Short Bio of Nick Amuna

Nick Amuna is one of the numerous uncles of the late Engineer Andy Amuna. He is a Major in the United States Military currently stationed at Texas. Nick has over 15 years of extensive combat and non-combat experience and have served in support of missions in the Middle East, Europe, and Africa.

Nick Amuna holds a MSCM from the Virginia Commonwealth University (USA), MBA from Strayer University (USA), and BBA Business Logistics from the Utrecht Business School (The Netherlands)

Georgina Odoi attended Achimota School, in Accra, Ghana, for her elementary and high school education, studying Physics, Chemistry and Math in 6th form. She’s a proud Akora (Old Student of Achimota School). She went on to the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology(KNUST), in Kumasi, Ghana where she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics. She was elected and served as the Treasurer of the Math Students Association.

She worked in multiple short-term roles in Retail, Bank, and Education in Leicester, UK before migrating to the U.S in 2005. For the past decade+ years, she’s been working at Capital One in the Consumer Bank line of business, currently supporting the Savings, Forecasting and Economics team in a Data Analyst role, and is a member of the Black and Latino Analysts, and Black Business Resource  (VOICES) Groups. Before Capital One, she worked at Apex Systems, a Technology Services Company as an Accounts Support Analyst for almost 5 years and prior to that as a Contractor at Hecht’s Department Store Headquarters, Jewelry Buyer’s office.

She currently resides in Virginia, USA with her family. When she’s not working, she enjoys spending time with her 2 sons, walking, listening to podcasts and books, or watching movies.

ABRIDGED BIO

 Ambassador William A. Awinador-Kanyirige, is a retired career diplomat. He is currently a private consultant  focusong on research and capacity building in the areas of governance, strategic planning, diplomacy, youth mentorship, regional integration and development. A former  Ambassador to Ethiopia, Permanent Representative to the African Union and UN Economic Commission for Africa (July 2017/May2018); High Commissioner of Ghana to the Federal Republic of Nigeria and concurrently accredited to the Republic of  Cameroon, as well as Permanent Representative to ECOWAS (September 2014 to June 2017), he also served in various capacities at both the Foreign Ministry and  in a number of  diplomatic missions abroad, including, a secondment to ECOWAS Commission, Abuja, as Chief of Staff (2002-2008).  He had earlier worked in the Africa Regional Office of the International Young Christian Students, IYCS, (1982-85) as a member of the Five-Member Regional Coordination Team in Nairobi.

 Mr. Awinador-Kanyirige was a Member of the Executive Board, West African Network for Peacebuilding (WANEP), 2009 to 2014; the Bureau of the United Nations Commission on Population and Development, 2011/12, as a Vice Chairman, representing Africa; Member, Board of  Directors, FERAM, Paris (2019/2020) and is  currently a Fellow of the Society for Peace Studies and Practitioners (SPSP), Nigeria; Executive Council Member, Council on Foreign Relations, Ghana; Distinguished Fellow, Institute of International Affairs, Ghana; Member, Board of Directors, West African Civil Society Institute (WACSI), Member, International Board, Pan-African Heritage and World Museum, Ghana.

Monica Nana Ama Senanu (Mrs.) is a lawyer with over 25 years’ experience in a range of legal issues including energy, project finance, procurement, corporate and commercial law, corporate governance and company secretarial services. She is currently the Director, Legal & Board Secretary of the Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo), where she provides legal services on issues related to the National Grid in Ghana.

Monica is the Chairperson of the sub-regional committee for the commercialization of the excess dark optic fiber on Transmission Lines of West Africa Power Utilities under the West Africa Power Pool (WAPP).

She is a member of the Ghana Bar Association, Notary Public of Ghana and a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK). Monica is an Executive Council Member of Women in Energy (Ghana), an organization of senior professional women in the energy sector, influencing policy in government and corporate entities for leadership development of women in the energy sector. Monica is passionate about supporting young people is also an Executive Member of Akua Kuenyehia Foundation, supporting Ghanaian girls, especially those from underprivileged backgrounds, through educational scholarships and mentorship programmes.

Profile of Ing. Prof Mark Adom-Asamoah

Prof Mark Adom-Asamoah is the Provost of the College of Engineering, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, Ghana. He is a past Dean of the Faculty of Civil and Geo-Engineering, Head of the Department of Petroleum Engineering and the Sectional Head of Structural Engineering.

Prof Adom-Asamoah is a distinguished Fulbright Fellow, Commonwealth Scholar and British Council Scholar. He obtained his BSc. in Civil Engineering from KNUST in 1993; an MSc. in Structural Steel Design from the Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine, University of London in 1995 and a PhD in Civil Engineering from the University of Bristol, UK in 2005. He has served as a Visiting Scholar at the University of Bristol, UK and Arizona State University, US. He was a Fulbright Senior Research Fellow at the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Georgia Institute of Engineering. Atlanta, USA.

He is a fellow of the Ghana Institution of Engineering, a member of its governing council and a member of the Engineering Council Board. He is the acting Chairman of the Governing Board of the Engineering Council of Ghana. He is a member of the Governing Council of the Apenteng-Appiah Menkah University of Skills Training and Entrepreneural Development (AAMUSTED) and a member of the Governing Council of the St Louis College of Education.

PROFILE OF DR ANDREWS ADUGUDAA AKOLAA, DBA, FCIM

Dr Akolaa is an astute academic and practitioner of marketing with over 25 years in industry and academia. Dr Akolaa’s experience span the senior management levels in private sector holding Snr Executive positions and serving on various public boards and committees in Ghana. Dr Akolaa is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing both UK and Ghana. He also currently serves as a member of the Board of National Biosafety Authority, a non-Executive Director of Tesah Future Fund, Executive Member of the Association of Ghana Industries Tema Region, a member of the Localization Committee of the Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana. Dr Akolaa is also the immediate past President of BONABOTO an association of the citizens of Bolgatanga, Nangode, Bongo, Tongo and its environs of the Gurusi Traditional area. He also currently serves on some committees in the University of Professional studies Accra, Academic Awards Committee, Member of PhD Dissertation Committee, and a PhD comprehensive Examiner. Dr Akolaa hold a Doctor of Business Administration from the SMC University, Switzerland, MSc International Business from University of Ghana Business School, Executive Master’s in business Administration from University of Ghana Business School and PgDipM, Chartered Institute of Marketing UK.

  Dr Akolaa served as a Council member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana. He also served as a Corporate Executive in Residence at University of Ghana Business School. He brings a wealth of experience to the Andy Amuna Foundation.

Benjamin Asane Asante attended Cosmos School Limited and St. Augustine’s College for his junior high and senior high education respectively. He studied General Science in Senior high school. In 2013, he received admission to study Computer Engineering in the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). He graduated in 2017 with a BSc. Degree in Computer Engineering.

He is a former President of the Association of Computer Engineering Students (ACES) – KNUST and also a former President of the Ghana Engineering Students’ Association (GESA) – KNUST. During his tenure, He worked closely with Andrew to find lasting solutions to problems and challenges faced by students.

He is currently an Aerodrome Control Trainee in the Department of Air Traffic Services at the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA). Having passed all the requirements, He is expected to receive his full Aerodrome Control License in 2022.

He is the National Porter of the St. Augustine’s Past Students’ Union (APSU) – 2013. He doubles as a Trustee for the APSU 2013 Welfare Scheme. He is a member of the Ghana Air Traffic Controllers’ Association (GHACTA) and he works closely with the GHACTA Technical Committee especially in organizing the GHACTA Technical Webinar Series (TWS) which is a series of webinars on Aviation and Air Traffic Control topics. He is also a member of the Operations Team in the Department of Air Traffic Services, GCAA.

He enjoys coding, cycling, swimming and reading aviation and computer programming related books.
